About Marla Fair

Marla believes that beauty is the oracle that speaks to us all.  In her work she seeks to merge realism and the imagination to achieve poetical reality.  A native of Troy, OH, Marla attended the University of Cincinnati and Edison State Community College majoring in Fine Arts and minoring in History.  Though she works in graphite, pastel, ink, and does contemporary works in gel and acrylics, she fell under the spell of professional colored pencils over a decade ago.  Since then she has devoted hundreds of hours and laid down thousands of layers of translucent wax in order to inspire others to see the beauty in the world around them.

Marla has studied under nationally known colored pencil artists Janie Gildow and Ann Kullberg and teaches colored pencil at the Troy Hayner Cultural Center.

Marla will bring a mobile class to your event and is available for art talks on various mediums.  Contact dfair@woh.rr.com or call 937.657.5203

Marla is also an historic interpreter with the Ohio History Connection. She leads tours through the 1815 Johnston House and is available for talks on the Johnstons, Women of the 19th century, and the general era.  Email dfair@woh.rr.com for more information.
